🙏✨My response to an article sent to me to evaluate about if ‘Salvation is truly free’:

"The person (the writer of the article mentioned) is slightly confused (vague noticing an issue but not knowing how to express about it well), though making a valid point.

The writer is confused because the writer does not realize that the actual issue they are dealing with is not "free gift" but "relationship".  They are a little disconnected with this concept in the presentation given.

The writer's valid point deals with the marketing scheme presented by some to 'sell salvation' instead of focusing on the 'why' of the broken relationship between us & God created in Genesis 3 & the worked out solution given in Genesis 3:15.

Salvation is Romans 5:15/6:23 free (χάρισμα charisma) gift, it is not at a cost for us passed to us, but applying it to our life is entering into a relationship & relationships are hard-work, effort.

An expensive new car you do not have the capability to earn may be given to you free from your parents, but a car requires fuel and maintenance to run. It is still a free gift of a car. But to use that car in your life will cost you as it is applied.

So it is about presentation and stages (steps). This is why I encourage new believers to read the book of James right away to see the seriousness of what they are getting into.

1. James (reality of relationship) then 2. Genesis (history why) then 3. John (see the resulting action) then 4. Galatians (seeing how things work together).

I believe this the best order for a new believer to have a solid foot of faith to grow on though many would say book of John should be read first.

If a new believer only has those four books for life they would be fine in their faith as many claiming to be saved never read past the book of John if even that.

All of the rest of the Bible makes things clearer and more specific in how to deal and apply through the issues of life, faith, & find out more what God Himself is like through observational study.

I hope my presentation makes sense: Valid issue presented in the article, but focus a little off in the presentation since incomplete in salvation's true actual goal statement.

Salvation is not about getting a membership, it is about entering into a relationship.
